(More customer reviews)I've been eating these cherry apple fruit and yogurt bars for maybe a year or so now.Maybe longer.I love them.I should mention first, that I HATE yogurt.I can't stand it, and I've tried other fruit bars with yogurt and hated those too.I don't know what made me try these.Maybe because the picture on the box didn't make it LOOK like yogurt was in them.No picture of yogurt.. the filling of these breakfast bars aren't yogurt looking.. etc.Anyway, I tried them, and I love them.I do not taste the yogurt at all.They are tasty, and all natural, and they are a great snack.When I first started buying them, they would crumble very easily inside the packaging, and it was not convenient to carry them around with me (since trying to eat one after it was in a purse meant a lot of crumbs).Then at some point they changed something and the "crust" stuff stays together now.Still tastes the same, just easier to carry around with me.They can still fall apart if they get crushed enough, but it's not normally an issue.

The only reason I did not give this product 4 stars is because of the one time I bit into one and found that it was filled with white mold.That had been the first time I ever saw this though in all the time I've been eating them (I ate at least a box a week for over a year), so I don't want to completely stop eating them because of just one experience..although it does make me wary of biting into any more without breaking them in half first and looking inside.

I reported this to amazon who immediately refunded my entire purchase price, and told me that it would be investigated before they would sell this product again.I trust that this was done, as it is now being sold again, so I think it's safe to buy them from amazon again.The expiration date on the box had not yet passed, althouth it was only a month away.I emailed the company Barbara's about it, and they suggested that what I saw was actually crystalized sugar (I forget the actual terms they used, but that's what they meant) and not mold.It is possible that they were right -- but, I have seen mold before, and I have seen crystalized sugar before, and I do not believe it was sugar crystals I was seeing.I believe that it was actually mold.Still, this was a one time incident, and the way Amazon handled this problem was excellent.Barbaras more than likely would have offered to compensate me for the cost of my purchase (I don't know how they do things there, but I assume they gaurantee their products), but seeing as I was given a refund from Amazon already I did not follow through.

I don't think it a single incident in over a year warrants taking any more than 1 star off of my review. So, 4 stars it is.

I've also eaten the blueberry-apple and the strawberry apple.. they were good, but I liked the cherry apple the best.

Tart Is Smart Tart Cherry Concentrate, 16-Ounce Bottle Review

(More customer reviews)This product is supposed to be refrigerated, according to the maker. Not refrigerated after opening, but refrigerated. They claim to ship it to retailers in refrigerated trucks. This is a concern, because it's bottled in #1 plastic bottles, unlike most health juices, which use glass bottles. A concern to me in Arizona, where even in winter the UPS trucks heat up. I received mine late today, and it was quite warm--luckily it was under 100 outside, but on an 80 degree day the insidees of vehicles reach above 102 degrees. So it was somewhere under boiling.
Very bad packaging. They could at least use #2 plastic. The taste is fine but the anti-oxidant effect is bound to be either a wash or negatively affected by the heat. I will have to go back to purchasing another brane from a health food store where they keep it in a refrigerated case.
I have an email in to the maker and will post an update.

And I tasted it, and it was Good! Frankly, I found Black Cherry, Kiwi Berry, and Watermelon Strawberry pretty similar in taste, Orange Tangerine more distinctly tart, but I enjoyed all of them.

In the cans you have 5 other flavor choices: The Switch Fruit Punch, 8.3 Ounce Cans (Pack of 24), The Switch Grape, 8.3 Ounce Cans (Pack of 24), The Switch Kiwi Berry, 8.3 Ounce Cans (Pack of 24), The Switch Orange Tangerine, 8.3 Ounce Cans (Pack of 24), and The Switch Watermelon Strawberry, 8.3 Ounce Cans (Pack of 24).

Since virtually nothing is added, the slight nutritional differences must be due to the characteristics of the different juices being used. Fruit Punch, Orange Tangerine, and Watermelon Strawberry have the highest calories, 140; Kiwi Berry is next, 135; Black Cherry is next, 130; and Grape has the lowest, 125.Orange Tangerine and Watermelon Strawberry have the highest total carbohydrates, 36g; Black Cherry and Fruit Punch are next, 35g; Kiwi Berry is next, 34g; and Grape has the lowest, 33g. I might sound like a crazy but I have only had it for a week, but was drinking 40oz of water a day with the cherry juice. I missed a day and about 5pm I was in so much pain. I laughed and told my husband I needed my juice. I did drink the juice but had to take 3 Advils to help...Well I have not miss a day and don't need Advil everyday anymore...

(More customer reviews)Peeled Snacks Cherry is *very* tasty.They are like soft, juicy, extra plump raisins, but with the distinct flavor of cherry.The Packs are a convenient size for travel, and are a built in limit to the tendency to over-indulge.

That said, the cost isn't bad for a travel pack, but for a household staple it's pricey.It would be nice to have the option to buy it in bulk at a more economical price.I almost downgraded it a star for that reason; but I must admit it might be difficult to maintain the perfect flavor and texture achieved in the travel pack.
