(More customer reviews)If you've ever peeled and cut whole mangos you'll appreciate this can of delicious prepared mangos.There has to be 2 or 3 whole mangos per can.If they would use the natural mango juice instead of light sugary syrup they would have a HIT on their hands.Still, even with the high sugar content, these canned mangos are terrific as a cake or ice cream topping or even just by themselves.I will be buying this product again when it's in stock and on sale again.If you like mangos and can tolerate some added sugar, I highly recommend this canned fruit.Roland does a nice job with their fruits but stay away from their vegetables.

(More customer reviews)Essn is an excellent indulgence. Not for drinking like a soda or every day. It's more like a wonderful reward.

These are on the sweet side, but also good solid lemon flavor. They are not as sharp as San Pelligrino's Limonata. But they nowhere near as sweet as Sierra Mist or Mountain Dew.

I really love this product.

(More customer reviews)Kellogg's Special K Cereal, Red Berries, 16.7-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4), is a delicious cereal.Since Kellogg is number one-- the number one producer of convenience food in the world --we know Kellogg will give us what we want while ignoring the things that do not matter to us.

What do we want?
(1) Flavor.Those real freeze dried strawberries are so delicious that we are tempted to eat them dry out of the box and leave the cereal.The cereal tastes good too.It is sweet, and there is malt flavoring that we love.
(2) Nutrition.With 110 calories per cup, we can measure out a cup and use it for diet food.It has vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, calcium, B vitamins, and minerals.
(3) Grain.There are crispy rice and wheat flakes.What does not matter to us? (Or does it?)
(1) Sugar.The cereal is loaded with it, but if we did not have it in the cereal, many of us would spoon in a generous application. The second ingredient is sugar.Is that cane or corn?Also listed in the ingredients is high fructose corn syrup.
(2) Nutrition.It is hard to stop with one cup full because we are used to feeling full.A cup of light cereal takes us through the motion of eating slowly . . . that's a plus . . . but does not satisfy the way whole grain cereal does.About the added nutrition:some of us don't need all of what it gives us, or maybe we really do prefer to take them in pill form so we know we exactly what we are getting.Many of us take in more iron than is considered healthy for our specific needs.What your physician will tell you about this issue may be surprising.
(3) Grain. If we are allergic to wheat, we need to pay attention to the label.Also there is corn in the form of fructose.What we are getting is highly refined grain products when whole grain would be better for our health by providing fiber.

With the price out of the range of what we usually spend on breakfast foods, I don't find it a good value.

United With Earth Organic Medjool Dates, 16-Ounce Containers (Pack of 4) Review

(More customer reviews)These dates are wonderful!They are moist on the inside and deliciously sweet/complex/creamy/caramelly in flavor. I've bought dates in the past that have a "papery" outer layer that is unpleasant; these do not have that issue.These are NOT the dates you find in the baking section of your grocery store - nothing wrong with those for baking, but these are much better & good for snacking or eating as they are.

I like these for dessert.I have a 1/2 Cup of plain Greek yogurt (Fage 2% is my favorite) & 1 or 2 of these dates.My sweet tooth is completely satisfied by the dates and the yogurt is like eating pudding; delicious and healthy.Also great as an appetizer: just make a slit in the date, take the pit out & put in goat cheese, blue cheese, mascarpone or any creamy cheese.Warm them under the broiler for about 3 minutes or skip the broiler & eat at room temp.Or go all out & wrap bacon or prosciutto around the stuffed date & broil for about 4-5 minutes, turning them after about 3 minutes.The combination of salty and sweet is delicious.

The package has the "Packed Date" and the "Best By Date" on the back.I received my dates on 5/22/10....they were packed on 3/15/10 and will be best by 9/15/10.

I have not found it necessary to store the dates in the refrigerator and I prefer to eat them at room temperature.I just store them in an airtight container in the cupboard after opening the package; of course they aren't lasting long in my house!

The plastic container is recyclable:1 PETE

UPDATE 10/2010:I've now ordered these dates 3 times.This last time, I noticed the dates are not as nice as the first 2 times...not bad, just not fabulous.They are a bit more papery skinned & there are dry "lines"/patches on some.Also, the packer has stopped putting "Packed On" dates on the packaging.Now there is just a "Best By" date.I prefer the old way because then I know how old they are when I get them.The inside of the date is still very good, creamy, delicious.Perhaps these dates are older?Or maybe weather conditions have been poor for the grower?These are an agriculture product grown organically so weather can be an issue.I'll order another batch when I finish these & let you know how they are.

(More customer reviews)This bar has cranberries, almonds, and macadamia nuts (NOT bits and pieces!) as their main ingredients, in a soft honey-like glaze to keep it all together.I refrigerate them in the summer or they kind of "wilt".The ingredients are fresh, and the nuts are crunchy.What I really appreciate about these bars is that it really takes time to eat and enjoy them.Those nuts are meant to be chewed and not inhaled, unlike a lot of snacks that disappear as soon as you get the wrapper off.I can't eat one in front of my favorite dog, as this is one snack I am too fond of to share with her... much to her dismay.I think they are worth the cost, and I know they cost way more if you find them in a local grocery store.
