(More customer reviews)We really enjoyed this cereal. It is hard to find any cereal that is not overloaded with sugar, let alone one that is gluten-free. This cereal meets both needs. It is sweetened only with fruit juice and has a crunch that lasts. Additionally, the price is great!

The only reason I don't give it five stars is because it is a little plain. That can be nice, if you like to add things like fresh or dried fruit, or if you like to use it in baking. But, if you're in a hurry or don't want to mess with "doctoring it up", it is not really flavorful. I didn't mind it, but I could see how others would find it too plain.

(More customer reviews)I've been buying Nature's Path gluten free foods for a number of years, and have been fully satisfied.I've had access to somewhat lower prices than what traditional grocery stores put on their products, but am delighted that Amazon's price is virtually identical to the prices offered by the discount organic foods market we've purchased these from in the past.I doubt you'll find Nature's Path products any lower anywhere else, particularly when you consider no sales tax and free shipping if the order is large enough.Also, I contacted Nature's Path once with a question about one of their products (the Mesa Sunrise flakes).Customer service is excellent and very friendly (much nicer than we typically get "down here" in the States - they're a Canadian company up in B.C.).If this sounds like a commercial, it's not intended to be - I just have been entirely satisfied with Nature's Path foods for years and have no complaints at all.When a company does a good job, they deserve referrals - everybody wins.

(More customer reviews)I love products with very few ingredients, and Barbara's Brown Rice Crisps contain: Organic whole grain brown rice, Organic fruit juice concentrate, and sea salt, that's all!No preservatives, gluten free, Dairy free, Vegetarian, no artificial anything, and it tastes great!The light sweetness of the organic fruit juice isn't quite enough for me, so I drizzle a tiny amount of agave nectar over it.This cereal is yummy with soy milk or rice milk if you are staying away from dairy.There seems to be a few overbaked "crips" in most boxes, but for a cereal that is minimally processed it really doesn't bother me.I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I think this cereal is way overpriced!It is costly in stores and here on amazon.I mean come on, we know what's in it, how could it cost so much!I still highly recommend this product, if you want a healthy cereal with no bad stuff in it, and you have lots of money!

(More customer reviews)I don't know if Erewhon listened to customers complaining about not enough strawberries or maybe it was just a glitch in the production but all the boxes I've opened have plenty of strawberries in them.I find the strawberry bits on the tart side as strawberries can sometimes be.The flakes are delicious. This cereal has 6gms of sugar so it's sweeter than Erewhon's crispy brown rice cereal with less than 1 gm of sugar but it's not too sweet.Perfect alone or mixed with Crispy Brown Rice which is how I like to eat them.

This cereal tastes so good don't think it's just for people with Celiac disease.It's also a good option for those like myself with mild wheat allergies or maybe you're just looking for a healthy breakfast cereal.For certain it's better than Rice Krispies which is made from white rice and high fructose corn syrup.I called Kelloggs to ask where the rice comes from.I was told, "we don't know".They have no idea what the conditions are where the rice is grown?Doesn't sound like they care either.That concerned me which is why I started to look for an organic version.

I didn't notice this until the boxes were delivered but the strawberries are NOT ORGANIC.Only the cereal part is.That's why the box isn't labeled as Organic the way their Crispy Brown Rice is.On the box you will see a different type of label..."With Organic Grains".That's where they make the distinction.

(More customer reviews)...these muffins are a big disappointment.See that lovely BROWNED muffin top on box picture?Welllll, I've tried several boxes of these, using different oven temperatures, making them plain, with fruit, with nuts, with everything I could think of except chocolate (hmmm, maybe I'll try that!)The tops stay a pale, pasty WHITE!Sooo unappetizing.And false advertising, IMHO.

Now for the taste.Another disappointment.They are bland bland bland, blah, blah, blah!You MUST add additional ingredients or they are just plain, uh, RICEY tasting - and if you're an older celiac, you know what I mean.Those first corporate attempts at making GF mixes were hideous!These are no better.Yuck!

Now for the size.I'm a pretty doggone accomplished baker if I do say so myself, both prior to my diagnosis in 1985 with non-GF ingredients, and since, using mixes and baking from scratch.These just don't RISE!See the photo with that lovely dome muffin shape?Nuh-uh.Perhaps they use old, REALLY old leavening?Dunno.But they puff up only about 1/16" of a centimeter.Maybe.But I doubt it.

Now for the boxed ingredients.Cheesh, you have to add all of the EXPENSIVE stuff to make these work.Butter, milk, eggs, and fruit/nuts/whatever.Fer cryin' out loud, it's truly no more trouble, and a WHOLE lot cheaper to make muffins from scratch.

I desperately wanted to love these and give a great review.But I just cannot.Make your own muffins and save your hard-earned money for some of the Gluten-free Pantry's other mixes - I rate the following 5 stars without hesitation:

Country French Bread mix - absolutely delicious!!We use our bread machine and they come out PERFECT every time!And when we've used regular oven, in our french bread loaf pans, we add some toasted sesame seeds, and they are incredible.

Chocolate Truffle Brownie Mix - OMG - completely addictive!!Gotta watch out for these if you're on a diet.You'll want to gobble up the whole batch!

Beth's All Purpose Flour - quick & easy to use for all your baking (including those homemade muffins).

Spice Cake and Gingerbread Mix - delicious - and sooooo easy - I can prepare it faster than it takes my oven to heat up.(Isn't that one of the BEST reason for buying a mix?)I add additional cinammon, nutmeg, ginger - we like it that way.

Coffee Cake Mix - fantastic - and EASY - the crumble topping is included.Wonderful for a breakfast treat and NOT just for Celiacs.

So that's about it.Try it - you may like it. Hey - that's what makes horse racing! But don't buy a whole case in the event that you don't.

Regards to all you brave Celiacs out there.Let's hope that someday science can find a solution for us to make our lives a little easier.In the meantime, heaven bless these fabulous companies for providing us with these products.
