The original Life Savers were peppermint, and the well-known fruit flavors began to appear in 1929.

Well, they have once again hit on a new idea - Life Savers Fruit Tarts! These excellent little candies (a little smaller than the regular Life Savers, the size of mints, really) come in quirky tins, and in an assortment of flavors. The fruit tarts in these tins come in three flavors - Grape-Berry, Green Apple, and Strawberry-Watermelon.

I hate the sour candies that begin with a burst of tasteless sour, and then suddenly become sickeningly sweet candies. Well, I don't know how they did it, but they are nice and tart, and stay tart until you suck them down to nothing! Now, how do the flavors in this tin compare to the ones in the other (Watermelon, Cherry-Lemonade, and Mandarin Orange)? I would say that they are just as good, which is saying a lot!!

So, if you want a great tasting tart candy, then get these Life Savers, they are GREAT!

My grandson HAD ECC [Early Childhood Caries] all through his baby teeth, $3400 worth of dental work; his mom and I started him on Xylitol a year ago, now he has $300 worth. All of his little cavities have re-mineralized . Unfortunately, he does not "walk;" he bounces, he skips, he runs, jumps, AND TRIPS! He fell and broke his 4 upper front teeth, broke the roots - so they're being extracted!

But the Xylitol cleaned up the rest of his teeth, and Xylitol Burst IS GREAT! And GREAT TASTE!

I'm a heavy chewer and buying gum in blister packs costs a fortune so I was happy to find a gum that came in bulk. The flavor is a nice fruity one, but it does fade fast, which doesn't really bother me that much. My biggest issue is the texture. I ordered both the fresh fruit and the green tea flavor (really does taste like sweet tea, for a little while). I'll chew a piece of gum for ages so long as it doesn't loose texture. The green tea flavor keeps texture well, the fresh fruit flavor gets soft and slimy fairly fast.

(More customer reviews)My review of the literature suggested xylitol gum to reduce or prevent ear infections. My son had several ear infections after bouts with allergies and one dose of penicillin for the infection nearly landed him in the hospital due to a severe allergic reaction.
My choice is to be proactive and reduce the bacteria in the mouth that migrates and causes ear infections. The gum tastes great and he hasn't had an ear infection since. WE bought him the toothpaste too and he brushes all the time with it.
