(More customer reviews)I absolutely LOVE this dried fruit.LOVE IT.Whenever I have a craving for something sweet, I can usually rip open one of these bags and forget all about eating something bad.

I've tried every one of their choices but this bag is my favorite.The apples and apricots are nice and sweet and the peaches give a little tang.The fruit is also nice and crisp, not stale and bland.I recommend this mix highly.Kids love it too so this makes a great lunchbox snack.Also wonderful for road trips.

Niki Jackfruit chips Review

(More customer reviews)I found three brands of Jackfruit chips at a local Asian market, including these, which were less expensive at the brick & mortar store. This brand was best of the three and the only one made with Palm Oil (healthier) instead of vegetable oil (not good for you). This brand has the best crunch, and although none are close to the flavor of fresh Jackfruit, they are an easy treat.
PS Did you know the taste of Juicy Fruit gum was modeled after Jackfruit?

(More customer reviews)The .3 oz. pouch of strawberries measures 1/4 cup, poured loosely, not packed. Don't expect the strawberries to look like the picture...I have not found any slices of whole berries. They are pieces and slivers. The taste is very strong, a little goes a long way. I like the strawberries on my cereal and 1 pouch can be used for 4-5 bowls. A tiny bit will flavor a bite of cereal so the whole bowl can taste strawberry-ish.
The mixed fruit packs contain strawberries. The blueberries are tiny and tasteless. The few raspberries I found were strong flavored and disolved quickly in the mouth. Mostly I got mangos and apples in the mixed fruit. I haven't tried the tropical fruit yet.

Edit: I have now tried the tropical fruit. It is .33 oz and composed of mangoes, bananas, pineapples, strawberries, and oranges. I didn't see or taste anything that looked like oranges. The bananas were very strong flavored, like very ripe bananas. I didn't like them. The mangoes were strong flavored also but not obnoxiously so.
The mixed fruit is .33 oz and composed of mangoes, peaches, apples, strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries.

The packages are meant to be single servings and are not resealable.

(More customer reviews)In principle, this is a great product:It's actual fruit, with nothing added, dried to a crisp and put in a packet that only has 85 calories.If you're looking for light, healthy-ish snack foods that are still tasty, this is a great choice.

But there are a couple of problems:

1.The packets are very narrow and long, which makes it virtually impossible to reach into them to get the fruit out, once you're past the top third or so.

2.There's a decent amount of fruit dust inside -- which, as these are berries and cherries, is red, and just waiting for a bit of added water tostain up any fabric it lands on.

Either of these in isolation is no problem, but put them together, and you've got a product that you MUST pour out, and yet a product that you CAN'T pour out.I guess maybe if you had a bowl or something, it wouldn't be a big deal, but that sort of takes away the portable-snack nature of it, no?As much as I liked the fruit, the inconvenience of the packaging is going to keep me from buying more.

Oh, and one more caveat:Despite the "Cherry Berry" name, this is at least 50% apple.I suspect that apples are to dried fruit mixes what peanuts are to mixed nuts, the inexpensive and unobjectionable filler.The apple tastes fine and all, but I wouldn't mind more cherries and berries, and fewer apples.

But I have found a delicious use for them - I put them in my plain oatmeal (Quaker Instant Oatmeal Regular, 11.8-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4))(made with milk not water), and cook the oatmeal - delicious! It's great to put some in, cook the oatmeal, and then add the rest so you get some of the crunchiness. It is even more delicious to pair them with complementary oatmeals - like Applemon with Quaker Instant Oatmeal Apple Cinnamon, Lower Sugar, 10.9-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4), Bananamon with Quaker Weight Control Banana Bread Instant Oatmeal 12.6 Oz - 6 Unit Pack. (More customer reviews)...which to me suggests they're using lower quality strawberries. Why add sugar to something so naturally sweet? Especially since they then toot their own horn about each bag being only 100 calories. There could be more strawberries in the 100-calorie bag if they left out the unnecessary sugar.

But yeah, it's freeze-dried strawberries, they're a great snack, kids love 'em, etc. (If you want to get all the yummy without the added sugar, try Just Strawberries.)

These are great to have in the car or purse since they don't spoil.The only downer is that they tend to glom onto your molars when you're almost at the bottom of the bag.So be sure you have a minute to scrape them off... It's really a minor point, but if you're headed to a meeting or something, could be an unpleasant surprise.

First, it is expensive... but then again it is suppose to be healthy, so that's a plus that makes up for some of the expense. Also, it seems like a good snack for kids. However, sometimes there is an unpleasant flavor with the "Tropical Fruit" flavor. It is not pleasant when you get a bad piece of dried fruit in your mouth. I also tried the "Organic Strawberries" and like those better, probably giving them a 4 out of 5. The strawberries are good to eat with dark chocolate.

(More customer reviews)I wanted to try these because the name was catchy, the packaging was bright and colorful and I really like the taste and crunch of freeze dried fruit for snacking. I also purchased this item because it contained a variety of flavors to taste test.Unfortunately, For a variety pack I didn't find a whole lot of variety. Two of the four flavors were primarily bananas -- Purple Funk (bananas with an acai coating) and Bananamon (bananas with a cinnamon). The flavor I preferred was Jivalime (pineapple and lime). It has a very robust flavor.The lime is strong and makes it very tart. The Carnival mix was just OK. This was a mixture of banana, pineapple, apple, papaya, and raisins. The pieces were very small in this mix.I would have preferredbigger pieces of papaya, apple and pineapple.

There are several other freeze-dried fruit mixes that I personally like better - perhaps because they have more traditional flavors. The Crispy Green product line is a favorite of mine and is comparable price-wise to the Funky Monkey products. For great peach flavor try Crispy Green Fruit Snacks, Crispy Peaches, 2.2-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 3).I also like the Crispy Green dried pineapple snackCrispy Green Fruit Snacks, Crispy Pineapples, 2.2-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 3).With Crispy Green you get 3 individual serving bags inside of a bigger bag. You actually get 9 bags of snacks. The extra packaging really does keep the fruit crispy and great tasting for a long time.
