Bonne Maman Raspberry Preserves - 12/13 oz Review

I liked Bonne Maman Raspberry Preserves. They are very good and for once the prduct tastes as advertized. A nice inclusion of some whole raspberries and a wonderful preserve to have on toast, or what it does, makes me feel like making a nice trifle. To me it would be better without the pitts, but then it would not be a preserve and would lose its great flavor in the process. Great for everyday, or a real treat in a dessert, good on the top of some vanilla ice cream.Lila Hamilton

I placed an order for six of these several days ago and they arrived two days ago. These preserves are outstanding and probably the best that I have ever eaten. As a result, we have placed orders for several different flavors. This is a good time to try them out with the special incentives and Amazon was by far the best price I found anywhere.

O.N.E. Drink, Coffee Fruit, 11.2-Ounce Aseptic Containers (Pack of 12) Review

O.N.E. Drink, Coffee Fruit, 11.2-Ounce Aseptic Containers

O.N.E. Coffee Berry Juice comes in 11 oz. serving sizes which compares to most individual serving size juice packages that you will find for other juices such as apple, orange, etc. However, based on the current price, a single serving costs roughly $2.40 so this product is not aimed at your ordinary juice drinker. At the same time it is different in a number of ways from your average juice.

Nutritionally there are a couple of differences between this Coffee Berry Juice and your friendly neighborhood OJ.In overall calories Coffee Berry Juice comes in at 107 while the orange juice that I normally drink clocks in at 140 for a similar serving size. The Coffee Berry Juice is significantly higher in vitamin C at 950% U.S. RDA compared to around 150% in OJ; however, the absorption rate of vitamin C decreases with the size of the dosage. While no harm comes from large doses, you don't necessarily get over six times the benefit. The other significant difference is where Coffee Berry Juice gets its sweetness.Unlike orange or apple juice that is naturally sweet, O.N.E. sweetens Coffee Berry Juice with evaporated cane juice. This is a common sweetener preferable to refined sugar, and the overall caloric content still comes in lower. The one area that I wish I could compare to other juices is potassium.Orange Juice is naturally high in potassium at about 550 mg in a comparable serving size. That is one of the reasons that I drink it regularly.Unfortunately potassium is not included in the Coffee Berry Juice nutrition label so there is no way to compare. The final difference from a nutrition standpoint is in the area of caffeine.Coffee Berry Juice is naturally caffeinated at the same level as a cup of green tea while your normal juice is not.It is a matter of individual preference as to whether this is a good thing or not.

Ultimately, though, the real decision on a food or drink product comes down to how it tastes. This Coffee Berry Juice has a taste that is rather unique. The first two ingredients are Acerola (Amazon cherry) and strawberry puree. The blend of these two dominates the flavor of the drink.I like both of these flavors, but I found it only moderately palatable. While I wasn't repulsed by it, I wasn't blown away by it either.I think that it is probably a taste that would grow on me, but I only had one sample unit on which to base my opinion. The other aspect of interest besides taste is consistency. The Coffee Berry Juice is smooth and compares more to apple juice than orange.

All in all O.N.E. Coffee Berry Juice is a unique beverage. It has a distinct (but probably acquired) taste from your run of the mill juice. From a nutritional standpoint O.N.E. needs to include potassium levels on its labels and give more details around the nutrients it preserves over roasted coffee in order to recommend it over regular fruit juice. The main group I would recommend this to is people looking for a healthier alternative to energy drinks since Coffee Berry Juice has a moderate level of caffeine.Otherwise for the price you are probably better off with more mainstream juice.

O.N.E. Coffee Fruit Drink retains all the important nutrients and the nutrient value of the whole coffee fruit (fruit + bean). Many of the beneficial nutrients of the whole coffee fruit are thrown away when coffee beans are processed or destroyed when the beans are roasted.
