For the record, Amazon is the seller of the Pomegranate Fruit Rocks being sold on this page. Pure Fun is merely the manufacturer. Seems a shame to give a product a 1-star rating, based on the actions of a 3rd party -- particularly when it is a 5-star product, manufactured by an ethical, conscientious company that uses only first class ingredients in their candy. A quick 10-second internet search turned up the answer. Pure Fun Pomegranate Fruit Rocks contain:

Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Organic Rice Syrup, Citric Acid, Natural Pomegranate Flavor and Natural Red Cabbage Color.

Additionally, it is certified organic, vegan, casein-free, gluten-free, Kosher and allergen free (which means it is free of the 8 major allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, milk, egg and soy). Equally impressive, their candies are made in the U.S.A. --not in China or Mexico, where so many candy companies have relocated to take advantage of cheap labor, substandard ingredients, and lax regulations, laws and standards.

For the uninitiated, the Pure Fun line of lollipops and hard candies (which come in every flavor of the rainbow, from pomegranate to ginger) are one of the few candies that ingredient-savvy parents can feel good about giving to their children as an occasional treat. You'll find no bizarro, ADHD-inducing chemicals, dyes or high fructose garbage in this candy. On that note, Pure Fun candies are Feingold-approved -- another important factor for ingredient-savvy parents and grandparents like myself. These candies are even better than the stuff I grew up with in the 1950s-60s. This is more like the stuff my grandmother grew up with. This is good, old-fashioned candy. All that's missing is the grandfatherly storekeeper and the brown paper sack. Pure Fun candies are also a staple item for those suffering nausea from morning sickness, motion sickness or chemotherapy. In fact, their ingredient list is nearly identical to the Queasy Drops hard candies and lollipops (which are often recommended to chemo patients by their oncologists), only Pure Fun cost half as much.

As a knowledgeable label reader, I agree that it's sometimes frustrating when Amazon and other sellers do not list the ingredients on the listing page. However, I do take issue with those who rate products based on a gripe with the seller or webmaster. Prospective buyers read these product reviews to assess the quality and customer satisfaction related to the product, not to see ratings on the seller or the webmaster. That's what feedback ratings and customer service are for.

All of this is to say that I wish when people have a gripe with Amazon or a seller, they'd take it up with Amazon or the seller, and not pollute the ratings system with non sequiturs and, in the process, degrade the rating of a 5-star product, whose manufacturer aspires, in a tough world market, to deliver what are indeed rare commodities for these times: quality and integrity.
