(More customer reviews)OK. I admit it. I'm one of the few crazy folks that really like fruitcake. I always have from the first piece I ever tried at our church's fruitcake make/bake/sale (they're fun to make, too. Especially in large quantities!). I like them dark, light, medium as long as they're on my plate. But I have to admit, I like the cake part to be a bit moist, not dry and grainy like these (remind me of Scottish fruit bread, actually. The taste is very good, the candied fruit and large pecans are tasty too. But the cake is dry...
I also bought one for my Father-in-Law... we'll see how he rates it.

(More customer reviews)I have been searching for the Jane Parker fruitcake for several months. I remember when I was a kid my mother buying these at the local A & P stores. Time passed, things changed and the A & P stores moved out of town and we no longer had access to these delicious cakes. This was many years ago. I recently decided to go on a quest to try to find the fruitcake. So, saddled with a computer and the internet I began my quest. Off to far-off places I went electronically in search of the cake. Lo and behold after hours of searching I found the cakes on Amazon.com. Tickled to pieces I ordered the 32 oz. Jane Parker Dark Fruit Cake (My personal favorite) and awaited its' arrival. My cake quickly arrived and I immediately tore into it. It was like stepping back in time as the taste and aroma enveloped my senses. Needless to say I was very well pleased to have found an old favorite. Thank you Amazon.com for bringing back an old friend.

(More customer reviews)I have been searching for a very good dark fruitcake for a long time. I determined it would be more cost efficient to buy one than it was to spend the money making one. After reading the reviews for the Jane Parker fruitcakes, I had high hopes for this becoming my seasonal purchase.
However, when I opened the fruitcake and cut a piece to taste, I was very disappointed. The cake was slightly dry and there was no rush of spices and flavors one should experience with a good fruitcake.
This is not a horrible fruitcake, but neither is it great. I will not purchase again, but will try some others. I may go back to making my own.

(More customer reviews)My Mom and I used to eat this fruitcake together when I was a teenager; no one else in my family liked it.It doesn't contain fruit peel and has a lot of candied fruit, including huge cherries.However, it's expensive enough that I'm not sure I will order it again, wonderful as it was to have it once more.
