(More customer reviews)OK. I admit it. I'm one of the few crazy folks that really like fruitcake. I always have from the first piece I ever tried at our church's fruitcake make/bake/sale (they're fun to make, too. Especially in large quantities!). I like them dark, light, medium as long as they're on my plate. But I have to admit, I like the cake part to be a bit moist, not dry and grainy like these (remind me of Scottish fruit bread, actually. The taste is very good, the candied fruit and large pecans are tasty too. But the cake is dry...
I also bought one for my Father-in-Law... we'll see how he rates it.

Assumption Abbey fruit cakes are a dark, rich traditional style for fruitcake. Made by Trappist monks in a small monastery in Ava, Missouri, who oversee all stages of production. This rich, dark and spicy fruitcake is spiked with burgundy wine and rum and studded with English walnuts, pecans, pineapple, cherries, raisins, currants, South American citron and orange & lemon peel.
