GoPicnic SunnyBreak, Fruit & Fiber, Ready-to-Eat Meals (Pack of 4) Review

GoPicnic SunnyBreak, Fruit & Fiber, Ready-to-Eat Meals

(More customer reviews)
As you can tell by the list of what's included, the SunnyBreak Fruit & Fiber has a significant variety of food and does make a very nice meal.

Here's how I ate it for lunch:
Sunbutter and Red Raspberry Jam on the Lavish Grain Crackers
1 oz of White Cheddar Cheese
Pears in Juice

I'm in love with the Sunbutter, but I will give you a heads up - be sure to follow the directions to squeeze to mix it before applying it to the crackers. Since this is a natural product, the peanut oil separates and it can be quite messy if not adequately mixed. Together the three things, the crackers, jam and sunbutter made a nice base for my meal.

While the cheese was OK, it did have a bit of a chemical taste - I have found the same taste often in stabilized cheeses. I ate it, but would more likely choose fresh cheese if it were available.

The pears in juice tasted good, but looked a little "flat" compared to the ones I have purchased for lunches at the grocery store. All of these items worked well together for a nice lunch, and I used the included spoon for the jam and the pears.

For later eating, I left the Multicrisps and the Apricots.

The multicrisps are similar to the Quaker rice cake snack package, and do tend to be a little dry, even though they taste really good. The cinnamon flavor is just the right amount and they taste wholesome instead of sweet.

Since I have a sulfite allergy, I was unable to give the Apricots a fair taste test, but I did pass them on to a friend who proclaimed them delicious!

Unless you are used to a very large meal, this selection will substitute as a full meal while eating at your desk or traveling in a car. Even without the apricots, the meal contained 10 grams of fiber and 16 grams of protein. Total fat is 30 grams, which is a bit high. With everything included, the total carbs are 86 grams (whew!) and even without the apricots it totals 79 grams of Carbs.

Total calories ... 710, so this is NOT diet food!

A good meal ... and handy to take along, if a bit messy if you aren't careful.

GoPrimo: Croissant & Fruit 6-Pack Review

GoPrimo: Croissant & Fruit 6-Pack

I have been sampling the GoPicnic packages in preparation for a trip, and chose the GoPrimo as one of my possible breakfasts. WOW! This one is ON my list ... and I'm glad Amazon sells it in 6-packs, because it's awesome!

Imagine - A fresh croissant for breakfast, and I mean really FRESH! If you've never had Nutella, it is a hazelnut "butter" with cocoa - think rich deep chocolate. Add the strawberry preserves and you have a delight you'd expect to find in a high-priced coffee shop!

As a diabetic, this was my limit, and I would be happy to eat it any morning of the week, although my doctor would prefer a healthier choice, so I have to keep this one for special occasions.

The small "biscotti" that came with the box is just the perfect small size to have with a cup of coffee, and was also very fresh and tasty!

Also included in the package are the apricots (they have sulfites, so I can't sample them for you, but a friend calls them delicious), and a gluten-free Laraba Bar with a "banana bread" flavor.

The bar is made from almonds, dates, and bananas. I found that it tasted a lot more like a very moist fruitcake than banana nut bread. While it wouldn't be my first choice for a desk snack, I would very much appreciate the flavor and energy if I were out hiking.

In fact, this is a very lightweight box of high-energy, high-quality food. If you are looking for a compact breakfast for hiking, camping, traveling, or even to keep in your desk I do recommend it. I not only will be adding this one to my trip, but will be keeping a few around for my hotel room!

My only wish is that it included a sulfite-free fruit, but those are few and far between, so I'm very happy with the meal.Five stars!

Although we make most of our baby's food at home, we like the Plum Organics for meals on the go.The packaging is great because you don't need a bowl -- you can just squeeze the food directly into a spoon. The package will reseal and you can use it again since your baby's saliva never contacted the unused food.My son seems to like this flavor (although he isn't very picky), and the ingredients are simple, so I still know what I'm feeding my baby.

There are other fruit in a pouch items that are far superior to Revolution Foods. This is pretty much high priced applesauce as it is mostly apples.I like the other brand named after the certain rabbit that has a cotton tail.Anyway, this is really good and wholesome as there is nothing but fruit, but, it is mostly applesauce and I can get that at the local market for far less.

We've taken real organic fruit and made purees that can be eaten right out of the pack. Mashups have all the goodness of fruit without any of the prep. They're great for tossing in the lunchbox and just as enjoyable at home. We like to think of them as an easy squeezy way to eat fruit.
